I have INTEL and AMD options.Its over your budget but I wouldnt buy anything less.I would really think about threwing in more money if there is a possibility.IN case you are really tightened to 240GBP then let me know and I will put something together but 240 is very tight.Its more for office PC then for home/game one.

Fast CPU,1Gb of memory is pretty nice for WindowsXP,the above graphic card is the best bang for the money on the market now now and very silent,same sized HD but will be much faster for the system,decent power supply(not overkill) and the case is pretty cheap one but its very well built and really looks nice and decent for the money.

You can still re-use or old HD and CD/DVD drive.

As I said if you really cant spend more then 240GBP I will post something later to meet your requiremets but my suggestion would be to spend more.I did that to all my "customers" and they were always happy.Their child as well

What little worrying me there is very little VISIBLE progress from Eric sides.IN the past there have been always small teasers in this are but somehow there is none in last few months.

I understand the problems with moving the house but LFS need these 3D upgrades,effects,hi-res textures.etc a lot.If the next update in this area would be really small then this would be first time I would say that something wrong is happening with the progress of LFS.I started practically with the first public demos so maybe its too long time me with LFS :lovies3d:

Regarding the 3D engine I remeber reading a long time ago from Scawen that he had some friend who helped him with the 3D engine.I think this is the area where has been done last few years practically nothing.Somebody should start thinking about it...:rolleyes:

Ach.I completly forgot on these VIA chipset solution supporting both features.to be honest I have been having bad experiences with these cross sollution supporting both old and new features so I would not recomended them but if you dont have any other option then some of these 4.

I would still try to exchange the card for PCI-E version.Then the choice is much easier and you can have better stability as well.

sorry to say that but I think you are in trouble if your graphic card is for AGP.There is probably none motherboard which would support C2D or AMD A64 X2 + DDR2 and AGP interface as well.

The asrock will be leaving the support with drivers if they not left already!

The files are sent as jpeg and not as DDS files.So around 100-300KB I would say.
They are then converted on fly to DDS files.

BTW ISP rip of the home customers for data hell a lot - bealive me.They pay like 1/10 or even less of what you actually pay for the same.

The skins examples above are the ones I made as peoplke were willing to seee the difference.I hope it helped.
If you would have the money to spend it would be not for the 1024 but for the 2048 versions.

This optional service is ihmo very good I think.Noone is forced but the option is still there to get better skins online without browsing several forums and ask individually people.Also the small profit from that goes to servers upgrade etc and thats very good.People should think about it they dont pay for the skins for for bandwitch and servers maintance/upgrades.

there is .TXT file in the main LFS directory(sorry I am in the office currently and I dotn remeber then name of the file) with various setting to set up for LFS.Look there for resolution settings and if its not 1024*768 then change it to that vaule and save the file.then start LFS again and it should be fine.

IF the problem still persist then its the graphic driver issue.

85 is pretty normal for 6600GT especialy with the AGP chip bridge near the GPU which can go hot a lot as well.They can work pretty well up to 95 degree without slowdown usually.

Still cleaning the cases,coolers and applying AS on the CPU would help to not stress the components so much.

For the graphic card is optimal for LFS 4xAA and 8xAF maybe even 16AF.
Just check how the changes affect LFS performance.

Is your graphic card for PCI-E or for AGP bus?
When you are planning to do next upgrade after this one(1,2 or more years)?

There are a lot of things...
P4 can do less instruction per one cycle,it has slower FSB which is very limited for dual cores its even limited for C2D cpu.AMD use hypertransport(something like FSB) which give much more bandwitch for data processing.

P4 has bigger latencies for accessing memory as well.Longer stage pipeline so it can achieve higher frequencies but it cause longer time to process data.

This is really simple description but you can find a lot of interesting articles to read on the web about it.Pretty interesting stuff to read.P4 archirtecture was really bad move from Intel.C2D is going back to P3/Pentiumn M architecture a bit.

Becky so why the its possible in other games and not in LFS.Its LFS fault as it can draw other things thru the windshield but the yellow line not.
